Blockchain hackathon

Lectures & artist talks

A blockchain hackathon on Arts, water management and philosophy? That sounds like a unique combination! Find out more about this hackathon on April 23rd in Belgium!

On April 23rd, HOWEST University of Applied Sciences together with Snowball, a cleantech hub and LUCA School of Arts will organize a unique blockchain hackathon in the ultramodern office buildings of Snowball in Evolis, Harelbeke in Belgium.

The challenges to solve derive from the artist and researcher Anna Ridler. Together with partners and experts, Anna is looking for more sustainable, inclusive and more value-drive water management. We are using water in all sorts of processes: for the production of food, clothing, development of computers, moving our waste and a healthy environment. But, we currently do not have a sustainable relationship with water. How can we improve this? Anna combines her expertise in blockchain, water management and philosophy to define interesting challenges and to help the teams out solving these challenges.

During this hackathon, you will work hands-on with a team to find out how blockchain can play a role in these challenges. This is a unique opportunity to network, gain knowledge & experience and above all have a lot of fun!

You can register for free via this link before April 3rd. You do not need to have a team when registering. Online matchmaking opportunities will be organized. Do not hesitate to sign-up, the number of registrations is limited.
