Starting today, LUCA will actively support all kinds of initiatives by students, researchers, teachers and staff who want to make LUCA School of Arts visible to the outside world.
To achieve this LUCA bundles resources. A central budget has been created where support can be requested for well-defined initiatives.
Relatively small-scale initiatives that make LUCA School of Arts visible in the outside world can apply for support. Proverbially we think of projects of “200 to 20,000 euros”.
Collaboration between students and teachers from different study programs, research units and/or services is encouraged. Potential press attention and support by external partners will be considered an advantage.
However recurrent initiatives that are part of the regular operation of study programs, research units or services cannot be financed with this programme.
Examples of initiatives that can be supported
Initiatives that strengthen international experience (individually or as a group)
Artistic projects in or outside our campuses
Participating in fairs or festivals
Showcasing research results or educational projects
If you are a member of the LUCA community, you can apply. Formally, this means an applicant must be enrolled in a LUCA programme (credit track, bachelor, master, doctorate…) or be employed by LUCA.
An application is made via a simple online form and contains the following information:
- What do you want to do (very brief description)?
- How will this put LUCA on the map (e.g. on social media, student recruitment, collaboration with researchers…)?
- What do you need in terms of support to realize your initiative? (e.g. use of space, borrowing material, a mailing list, coaching, advice, budget for relocation, budget for accommodation, budget for purchasing material etc.)
- Do you see any other sources for support from outside LUCA (e.g. grants, partnerships…)?
What happens afterwards?
After receiving your application, we look at how the Breakout programme can best help your initiative. There is therefore no heavy selection procedure, only support that gives your initiative the extra boost it deserves.
