'Education of the Senses'

January 9 and 10, the Labo for Education and Society (KU Leuven), in collaboration with the research cluster Art, Pedagogy and Society (LUCA/IMAGE) organizes  a two days winterschool on 'Education of the Senses'. The goal is to share ideas and insights on the educational concept of ‘STEAM’ throughcollaborative reading and film seminars. We read an unpublished text of Tim Ingold, Beyond STEM and STEAM, how education can be turned around by art, and watch the film Vers la mer by Annick Leroy. Tyson Lewis (Visual arts and Design at the University of North Texas) and Joke Vandenabeele (Labo for education and Society at KU Leuven) give some theoretical reflections. The artists duo’s Ciel Grommen & Maxim Brygo and Ronnie Heiremans & Katleen Vermeir share some reflections upon their artist practices.
