ELIA Academy 2021

<The extended art student> 

Elia presents a uniquely phased programme. This explorative bootcamp for arts education thinkers and dreamers, encompasses online and in-person participation. A specifically designed programme for arts lecturers, educators, artistic researchers, technicians and students, will take you on a ground-breaking educational journey into the unknown.

Harnessing the power of re-imagination, experimentation, and provocation, the ELIA Academy will act as the north star for ELIA members during the autumn/winter semesters of 2021 and 2022 as together, we map creative ways forward. Kicking off with a virtual launch on 24 November 2021, the Academy will lead participants on a tough and challenging expedition of three online episodes on 1 December, 8 December and 15 December 2021. The final outcome will take place in Brussels, our end destination, on 3 – 4 February 2022.

The ELIA Academy will be hosted by LUCA School of Arts and KU Leuven Faculty of Architecture. Pandemic and uncertainty; equality, diversity and anti-racism; transferable creative intelligence will continue to be the key pillars of the ELIA Academy, as we look to the future of teaching and learning practices in the arts.
