From non-visual to visual information in non-personal places: synesthetic experience at an airport

The goal of this research is to create a “sensory airport bubble”, and to introduce a concept of an orb: an area where environment collides with our senses. The absence of this orb of intimate sensitivity in a non-personal airport results in isolation and a lack of sensory observation, and as a visual artist, I seek to change this occurrence. Therefore my objectives are:

1) to combine our senses by inducing a synesthetic experience, and by creating intentional connections between non-visual and visual senses

2) to structure non-visual information by translating it into visual

3) to create personal attachments to non-personal places by humanising them, and by reflecting on our memory and sensitivity
