Imagine a sound that caresses, washes, and heals. I am believing that singing is what we should have learned from our grandmothers, to be able to transform our emotions into sounds and words and blow it out through our throats. Maybe to practice being the poet of our intimate everyday life. The Oral Transmission of Singing Knowledge aims at learning this ancestral heritage through its remained holders; Iranian female folk singers. Iranian music either the classical one or the folkloric one have been taught over millenniums through oral transmission of knowledge, therefore through this project I want to experience this empirical process.
