LUCA Percussions and LUCA Marimba i.s.m. music schools
Chin-Cheng Lin, conductor

During the Corona period it turned out to be really hard to give shape to the concept of ‘making music together’. Therefore the aim of LUCA Percussions & Marimba this year will be to bring together the percussion students of LUCA School of Arts campus Lemmens and the pupils and teachers of secondary art schools and partime art schools in one big percussion happening. This event offers a stage to a whole generation of young percussionists.

The programme will give evidence of the fact that percussion is not only part of everyday life, but also has a challenging effect. For that reason a selection of some famous classics will be programmed, such as Sheherazade (Rimsky-Korsakov), Bolero (Ravel) and Ouverture 1812 (Tsjaikovski), but also original works for percussion ensemble from Belgian composers/percussionists such as Luc Goos and Korneel Decae. During the second half of the concert evening, 100 percussionist on stage will give a grand performance of world music.

Come and witness this unique and historical percussion event!

LUCA in concert
