Are you interested in discovering how to use sound in your design process and sharpen your listening skills? Sign up for the Sound Office Productdesign Masterclass, a unique three-day design experience at LUCA School of Arts, campus C-mine in Genk, led by Colette Aliman from the Rotterdam-based platform Sound Office.
This masterclass, conducted entirely in English, offers young designers with a bachelor's degree the opportunity to learn how sound can be a powerful design tool. Over three days, you’ll dive into the world of sound culture, recording, and digital sound editing. We’ll explore different ways of listening: through our ears, bodies, phones, and professional recording equipment. You will also learn how to manipulate sound using digital technologies that can be applied to your future projects.
During this masterclass, we will focus on noise pollution as a design phenomenon and investigate how humans and other species coexist with it. Colette Aliman, an expert in emerging sound cultures, will guide you through this world and help you develop a new perspective on sound and its impact on the environment.
The masterclass is hands-on, with practical workshops and discussions on the power of sound in design. On the final day, you will present your findings and work to the public.
