organized by the specialization Photography on 28 February 2018

Miles Fischler (Brussels, 1991), is a Belgian photographer currently living in Antwerp. In her personal work, she is especially intrigued by structures and the way we look at images. The main subject of her work is the interaction between human beings and their surroundings, how people construct and divide the world. Her use of colour and composition lures in the viewer. She uses both her own photography, which is mainly made on colour film, as reappropriated material (such as photo archives and online footage). Her images balance between a poetic and analytical approach and sometimes are reminiscent of paintings because of their play with light, colour palette and texture. She recently also started experimenting with film, recording small observations during walks and travels.

Dries Segers studied at the Icelandic Academy of the Arts (Listahaskoli) and graduated as Master photography at Luca School of Arts campus Brussels. Since then his work has been show in several solo and group show in Belgium and abroad like at BOZAR,,Brussels (B), Fotomuseum Antwerp (B), Botanique, Brussels (B), Brakke Grond (NL), Fotoğraf Vakfı, Istanbul (TR), Warte für Kunst, Kassel (D) en Neue Galerie in Augsburg (D).

His images balance between abstract and lens-based photography. The way of seeing becomes the subject of his work. Each project likes to question the way photography is challenged by its own restrictions.

Diana Tamane, Born in Riga, Latvia in 1986. Lives and works in Tartu, Estonia, and Ghent, Belgium.Diana Tamane works mainly with photography, video and text, using autobiographical elements such as memory, everyday routines and personal events.
