Nancy Vansieleghem is pedagogue and lecturer educational masters in arts at LUCA School of arts (Belgium). She teaches and does research in areas of educational theory, philosophy of childhood, art education and radical pedagogy. She obtained her phd under supervision of Jan Masschelein on the topic of philosophy of childhood and experience. She is mainly interested in the pedagogy of the arts, the camera, the screen, the cabinet and the school, and more specifically in the meaning of attention, noticing, affect, equality, heterotopy, experiment, and childhood in troubled times. With Joris Vlieghe and Manuel Zahn she recently published the book ‘Education in the age of the screen. Possibilities and transformations in technology’ (Routledge, 2019). Currently she is working with Volkmar Muhleis on the bookproject ‘This is art education’.
