Beryl Chung is NOT 广顺
20 year old Beryl goes to China for the first time, as a Chinese American who cannot speak Chinese. She can’t even pronounce 广顺 Guǎng Shùn, her middle name. She doesn’t know who Guang Shun is, but it definitely can’t be her.
In the country she is supposed to be “from,” she feels more alienated than ever. Her heritage has rejected her and it’s all her family’s fault –– but what she doesn’t know yet is that she can accept it herself.

Deumylvintkat
In a world where everything is moving too fast and in all directions, Deumylvintkat is a quiet call to courage. The courage to stop. To take a breath. To observe one’s environment with intention. To look back at where we come from, and to pay close attention to where each step is leading us today.

it bugs me. (working title)
In the near future, global nuclear warfare had wiped out all human life on earth. One of the only lifeforms to withstand both the blasts and resulting nuclear fallout, the common cockroach, filled the void left behind, becoming earth’s new dominant species.
Not much had changed.
it bugs me. (wt) is a slow, methodical plod through modern (future) life, following a normal day in the life of an average office worker. Equal parts mood piece and black comedy, the comic serves as satire commenting on the cyclical nature of (human) history, and the violence underscoring it all.

Plum Rain
A graphic novel that explores a girl's emotional transformation following the loss of someone dear to her, expressed through shifts in both her physical surroundings and inner world.
Each chapter represents a distinct stage in her emotional journey—from grief, anxiety, and sorrow to reflection, and ultimately, to healing and serenity. Rather than following a conventional plot, the narrative centers on the visceral experience of emotion, using visual metaphors to give shape to the intangible.

Soon the Moon (Part I)
Soon the Moon follows the contrasting lives of two artists in Apartheid-era South Africa: Bill Hart, a White sculptor, once celebrated in Johannesburg’s elite art scene, and Thami Mnyele, a young Black artist whose work is shaped by the struggle, transforming it into an act of defiance. Bill was teaching art classes in a semi-professional crafts centre in Soweto when the uprising of students protesting Afrikaans-language education were met with brutal police violence in 1976. This event shook the nation, reinforcing the urgency of Thami’s mission and Bill’s dissonance from it.

Geef me nog even tot het lot ons loslaat / Give me some time before fate lets go of us
As the mailwoman receives a letter of mourning, she sees the path of unwelcomed change that she now must walk. On her journey of acceptance and resistance she notices how easily nature is constantly saying welcome and farewell. How easily but carefully it lets go of its companions and how eventually, in time, spring does come.

Hindsight
Hindsight Is a narrative that offers sweet and sour emotions. It begins by questioning belonging, and from there, emotions get tangled. The narrator tries to solve the puzzle by playing with metaphors from his language and food elements from his homeland.
The text digs into memory, moving between clarity and abstraction—where language itself becomes a landscape: unfixed, textured, and intimate.
