Braids

Before coming to Ghent to study illustration I gratuated from a DNAP (Bachelor in Visual Arts) at EESI (European School of Visual Arts) in Angoulême, I am french and grew up in Paris suburbs.
My practice constist mainly in making comic strips that are related to intersectionnal feminist issues.

Braids is my graduation work it is a comic strip that deals with gender expectations, anxiety, groups dynamic & relationships through the story of five characters.
It is a visual reasearch which attend to make work together the readability of the story & a visual elasticity. This means changing often the stylisation of the characters depending on their emotions, and letting the background being changed by the group or a single character's feelings.

Apnea Revised Editions is my master thesis, through the critics of my bachelor work I attempt to find a solution to not perpetuate harmful stereotypes unintendedly in visual narratives.
