Coordinator Narrative Arts Research Group
Wendy Morris works with moving image, diaries, letters, drawings and sound works. Her work explores fictional, documentary and autobiographical genres and is concerned with colonial migrations, religious dissent and archeological traces. Her short films are part documentary, part fiction, part audio-visual poem. The animated works are created by means of stop-frame animation in which charcoal drawings are filmed, altered, and re-filmed. Her videograms are lo-fi diary works. Morris shows her work internationally on animation, short film, or documentary festivals as well as in exhibition. She regularly collaborates with Brussels-based musician and sound artist Yannick Franck. Morris completed her doctorate in the arts in 2013 with three animated films and a book of 52 letters.
