Fine Arts Exchange

Exchange Programme

When choosing the Fine Arts degree programme taught at our campus Sint-Lukas Brussels, you are free to develop within the various disciplines of contemporary art: in addition to painting, sculpture, graphics, drawing, and mixed media, there is also space for a free, interdisciplinary or project-based approach.

Curriculum

The Fine Art specialization of Sint-Lukas Brussels offers a wide range of artistic possibilities. As a student you are free to develop within the various disciplines of contemporary art: in addition to painting, sculpture, graphics, drawing, and mixed media, there is also space for a free, interdisciplinary or project-based approach.

Programme for exchange students: During the exchange period you will be guided by a diverse team of teachers with expertise in painting, graphics, sculpture, mixed media, video, film, photography and drawing. As a student you can use silkscreen and etching facilities, the metal and wood workshops and video and audio editing suites.

In the Fine Arts programme you will participate in a wide range of collective events: workshops, studio visits by artists or other professionals from the artistic field, exhibition visits and other excursions. You also follow a number of theory courses, such as art history, philosophy and art theory. In this way you enrich your knowledge of modern and contemporary art and you learn to reflect critically on the position of the artist and the social context of art. Theory and practice are considered as an integrated whole.

Discover LUCA’s workshops

Across LUCA’s different workshops you will find a wide range of specialised facilities. In the glass workshop you work with both hot and cold glass techniques and various finishing processes. In the moulding workshop you learn how to create moulds in different materials to reproduce forms, while in Printmaking you explore analogue printing techniques such as relief, intaglio and planographic printing.

You can also bring your ideas to life in the print workshops. Here you translate digital designs into tangible results, from fine art prints and large-format posters to prints on a variety of materials and textures. With professional equipment and the guidance of experienced workshop technicians, you will discover the techniques and materials that best match your artistic vision and story.

As a LUCA student, you have access to every workshop across all LUCA campuses.
