PART 1: ONLINE SECTION
Upon registration, you will receive a link to the online portal where you can find the relevant instructions. In a short essay written in Dutch or English, explain your motivation for choosing this program and specialization. You upload your CV.
You must submit a video recording of yourself conducting (with an ensemble or with piano) of no more than 10 minutes, in which you conduct two pieces that differ in style and character. The video must be uploaded to an online platform such as YouTube.com or Vimeo.com. It is the candidate’s responsibility to ensure that the video links are working.
PART 2 - ON-CAMPUS AUDITION
A. Artistic audition at the Lemmens campus
The artistic entrance exam consists of:
• an aural training and theoretical knowledge test
• a sight-reading exercise
• a conducting exam in which the candidate conducts three short works (two prepared works and one sight-reading piece) using “silent conducting” and singing the main parts from the score.

Joseph Haydn: Symphony in E-flat major ‘Drum roll’ (London Symphony No. 11), first movement, first 60 measures
Ludwig van Beethoven: Symphony No. 1 in C major, first movement, first 77 measures
B. Interview on the Lemmens campus
In a brief conversation with the jury, your motivation and personal ambitions will be assessed.
INTERNATIONAL STUDENTS
International students admitted to Part 2 are asked to submit a video recording of the two specified pieces, in which you conduct the works with an ensemble or with piano accompaniment. The video must be uploaded to an online platform such as YouTube.com or Vimeo.com. It is the candidate’s responsibility to ensure that the video links work. Based on this video, students are admitted to an online artistic evaluation and an online interview.
RESULTS
Within a week of the test, you will be notified of the results of the Artistic Aptitude Test.
The Artistic Admission Test consists of several components. After registering, you will receive an email containing a link to the online admission test, which you will complete. You will then receive an invitation to a follow-up interview with the faculty and the practical exam (at the Lemmens campus).
