Youth concert Queen Elisabeth Competition

Concert

Every year, the Queen Elisabeth Competition invites young people to discover the magic of classical music during a series of concerts in Brussels, Leuven and Louvain-la-Neuve. During these recitals, competition laureates share their passion for music with young people and explain the repertoire they are presenting. For some young people in the audience, these concerts are their first introduction to the world of classical music.

For the next series of youth concerts in March 2026, we invited cellist Victor Julien-Laferrière, the winner of our very first Cello Competition in 2017. To mark the 150th anniversary of the birth of Pablo Casals, he will present a programme dedicated to this famous cellist and composer. He will be accompanied by the pianist Théo Fouchenneret.

Programme:

Johann Sebastian Bach –Suite n. 6 in D BWV 1012
[Prelude – Allemande – Courante – Sarabande – Gavotte – Gigue]
