Las(h)ting impressions: presenting the textile department during the New York Textile Month 2022

The New York Textile Month was established to promote textile awareness and encourage creativity. It celebrates its seventh edition this fall and will exist of more than 30 educational events, from a tour of the Kravet archive to a deep dive into the South Indian art of Kalamkari. LUCA School of Arts will present its Textile department during the exhibition 'The gift to be simple' curated by Li Edelkoort and Philip Fimmano.

With “las(h)ting impressions” Luca School of Arts (Belgium, Brussels) presents the department of Textile Design through the work of master students and graduates. 

LUCA’s international Master degree program in Textile Design is now open to students interested in exploring the artistic value and versatility of the textile medium.Within the broad range of design and visual arts, emphasis lies on the artistic process in which experimentation, innovative thinking and critical reflection play a key role. Students exploring the field between art/design and strive to become autonomous artists/designers.

The Textile Department is also presented during the exhibition 'The gift to be simple' curated by Li Edelkoort and Philip Fimmano with an introduction video and an introduction and discussion with Lieve Decorte and Cathérine Biasino.
